RESEARCH AREAS/INTEREST

The laboratory envisions revolutionizing mitochondrial medicine through integrative platforms targeting dysfunction and unfolded protein stress responses (UPRmt) in oncology (prostate/breast cancers), neurodegeneration (Alzheimer's), and infectious diseases (bacterial/viral pathologies). Our multidisciplinary approach fuses Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Stress Biology, Mitochondrial and Genome Biology leveraging AI/ML enhanced in-silico tools for high-affinity peptide discovery, CRISPR-engineered organoid models for precise disease recapitulation, and high-throughput in-vitro/in-vivo screening to validate novel chemical entities (NCEs) and bioengineered mAbs/therapeutic peptides. Cancer genomics complements these efforts by elucidating molecular mechanisms across these domains, while mRNA-loaded lipid nanoparticle (LNP) vaccine platforms drive rapid bench-to-bedside translation. This vision fosters a collaborative ecosystem of computational biologists, organoid bioengineers, immunologists, and clinician-scientists to deliver precision therapeutics that meet unmet needs via human-relevant disease modeling.
