Site Help

What's changed on the site?

  • a new, modern design with improved single click navigation allowing the user to visit major parts of the site.
  • wider pages with more space aimed to make the content easier to read with added links to social networking sites
  • to enable content sharing among users.

Why is only part of the site in this new design?

The NIPER-Hyderabad's website is very large and to minimise disruption the changes will be phased in section by section over the coming months. Until then the content will remain in its current look.

Why have you done this?

The use of the web has changed dramatically over the last few years and our site has been updated to reflect current needs and requirements. We have also updated the technology behind the site which will enable pages to be maintained quicker and include more functionality such as video and audio.

How will you ensure the site is still user-friendly for those with disabilities?

We understand that our site needs to be accessible to all users and so have worked with our technology and design partners to ensure that the highest standards are met. However if you are experiencing a problem with any part of the site please contact us and we'll do our best to assist you.

Will bigger pictures and more video change the loading time of pages?

The new technology that we've implemented as part of these changes will ensure that despite the increase in images and video the site will remain quick to load.

Why are you making changes to the web addresses? Will my bookmarks still work?

All our major published 'short cut' addresses will continue to work and our main address will continue to be www.niperhyd.ac.in. However individual page addresses will change due to the site being restructured. However we are improving our navigation and site search to try and minimise the disruption to you. We are also monitoring any problems so we can address them at the earliest.

Why are there social media links on the site?

An increasing number of our users want to share pages with friends so we've provided easy to use links to assist them with this. In addition a number of departments make use of social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook so we've added facilities to promote these within our site.

Are you improving the site search functionality?

Over time the site search will be replaced with a new version that will enable our entire site to be searched. At present however we will continue with the current Google application.

Is the site designed just for large screens?

The site has been designed to be viewed at a screen resolution down to 1280x1024 on all major browsers and computers. If however you are experiencing a problem please contact us and we'll do our best to assist you.

What browsers does your site support?

We aim for our site to work on a wide variety of platforms and browsers including: IE 7.x, 8.x, and 9.x Firefox 3.5.x and 3.6.x Safari 4.x and 5.x Google Chrome 5.0.x and 6.0.x Opera 10.x A mobile version of the site will be available soon.

Where are the some of the major pages?

The new structure will make it easier to find any information on the site.
