ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE




What are the courses offered by NIPER-Hyderabad?

NIPER-Hyderabad offers two year full time course M.S. (Pharm) in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Pharmaceutics, Regulatory Toxicology, M.Tech. (Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Technology (process chemistry) and MBA (Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Management. Also, Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology & Toxicology and Pharmaceutics.

Are there any company sponsorship seats available?

Total number of seats in each NIPER will be displayed on the website. 5% of seats over and above the total number of seats are available for candidates sponsored by Public/Private sector undertakings, Government Departments, Research and Development organizations. 5% of total number of seats in M.B.A. (Pharm.) programme is available for candidates who are NRIs or wards of NRIs.

What is the eligibility criterion for the courses?

The candidate should have passed the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA of 6.75 on a 10 point scale wherever grades are awarded or equivalent (Percentage of marks or CGPA so calculated will be based on the norms fixed by the concerned university/Institution or aggregate marks or CGPA scored by the candidate for all years of the qualifying degree, in case University/Institution has not prescribed any norm for calculating such percentage or CGPA). Valid GPAT/GATE/NET score (GPAT/GATE/NET score card of a candidate should be valid at the time of counselling/Group Discussion and Interview) is an essential qualification for all programmes [including M.B.A.(Pharm.)] except for the following categories of candidates.
  • Candidates holding B.V.Sc./M.B.B.S./B.A.M.S. degree.
  • Foreign nationals
  • Sponsored candidate from public/private sector undertaking, Govt. departments and research and development organizations.
  • Candidates applying as NRI or their wards [in case of M.B.A.(Pharm.)


Is there any relaxation?

Relaxation in CGPA to 6.25 on a 10-point scale or in marks to 55% or equivalent in the eligibility criteria is allowed to SC and ST candidates. 3.2 Physically handicapped (PH) candidates are permitted relaxation in eligibility requirement of CGPA to 5.75 on a 10-point scale or to 50% marks or equivalent. No other relaxation beyond this will be allowed even if they belong to SC/ST category.

How can I apply to a programme?

Admission to these programmes through counselling, candidates have to appear for an entrance test conducted by NIPER joint entrance examination conducted yearly.

Where will the entrance test conducted?

The test shall be conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune.

Is there any TA/DA will be paid to candidates?

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/concealing/group discussions/interview. Candidates have to make their own arrangements.

Is there any financial assistance will be given to admitted students?

All the admitted candidates [except for those admitted in M.B.A. (Pharm.) programme and candidates Sponsored by public/Private Sector undertaking, Govt. Department, Research and Development Organization] will be provided with stipend of Rs. 12,400 per month subject to obtaining of minimum CGPA of 6.00 in each semester. In case the CGPA is less than 6.00 but more than 5.50 the stipend of the students shall be withheld till he/she obtains the minimum CGPA of 6.00.

Institute will provide financial assistance of Rs. 12,400 per month to three students of M.B.A. (Pharm.) programme. The financial assistance will be given to the student(s) during second, third and fourth semesters. The financial assistance will be based on the performance and merit of the student(s) in their previous semester. Ph.D students will get Rs. 25,000 + HRA during their 1st & 2nd year and from 3rd year onwards, they will get Rs. 28000+HRA.


LIVING ON CAMPUS




Is there a hostel facility available in NIPER-Hyderabad campus?

Admitted candidates will be provided hostel accommodation based on the availability of rooms including shared accommodation.

Is there separate hostel for boys and girls?

Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. Currently the hostel block houses more than 180 students out of which 80 are girl students.

What are the facilities available in hostel rooms?

Both the hostels have large well ventilated rooms furnished with cot wardrobe, chair, study table which accommodates two students. All rooms have been equipped with Wi-Fi facility for each occupant.

How much distance from class rooms to hostel?

Hostels are located at IDPL Township about 2 km away from NIPER Campus situated at Balangar.

Is there any bus transport available?

Students are provided with bus transport facility between campus and hostel.
