Sanjeeva Reddy obtained his M.Sc (1978) in Physical Chemistry and Ph.D (1983) in Chemical Dynamics from Kakatiya University, Warangal. He also held a Post-Doctoral position at the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom, as a common-wealth Fellow during 1990-1991. Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy joined Kakatiya University as a lecturer in 1984 and became professor in 2005. He has put up 31 years of vast teaching experience by the time he superannuated in July 2015. At present he is working as the Registrar, NIPER Hyderabad.
Academic and Research Achievements:
Prof. Sanjeeva Reddy involved in teaching Post-Graduates for the past 31 years. His able teaching and guidance helped several students in their settlement India and abroad. He has been actively involved in research and has published 140 research papers in International and National Journals; presented 54 research articles in International and National Conferences. Under his able guidance 19 students obtained their Ph.D degrees and 5 students obtained their M.Phill degrees. His research interests include, the Design and synthesis of structurally and biologically interesting organic molecules and polymers; Development of newer methods for functional group transformations; Chemical Dynamics and Homogeneous Catalysis. He has research collaborations with Chemical Genomics Centre of the Max-Plank Society, Germany; University of Lancaster; University of Talca, Chile; University of Campinas, Brazil; IICT, Hyderabad and completed several research projects successfully. His technical innovations include, Designing tailor-made new polymeric products through living polymerization; Development of newer and technologically important heat & chemical resistant and antimicrobial furfural based resins as surface coatings in marine and aerospace applications; Design synthesis of new and potent bisheterocyclics as Nematicidal, Antimycobacterial, COX-2 selective inhibitors.
Apart from teaching and research, he has assisted Kakatiya University administration in different capacities. He has been involved in National Literacy Missions, Health Camps, Organized several adult education camps and is a Resource person for various community services, teacher training programmes, and Advisor for various educational Institutions.
Awards and Honours:
He is the recipient of Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Teacher Award-2015; UGC-BSR New Delhi, Faculty Fellowship award 2015; Telangana State Best Teacher Award 2014; Prof. T. Navaneeth Rao National Best Teacher Award in Chemistry 2012; Common-Wealth Fellowship Award 1990. Elected Fellow of A.P. & Telangana Academies of Sciences; Fellow of Indian Chemical Society; Fellow of Indian Council of Chemists and Executive Council member, Telangana Academy of Sciences. He is also a member of different Universities as external expert on the Board of Studies, as Ph. D adjudicator and is a reviewer for many National and International peer reviewed journals.
